Download is coming and the line ups getting fat
Richie Sambora has been added to the already full to the brim plastic cup of rock and metal music that is Download Festival Turbowolf, Cytota, The Temperance Movement, Nothing More, Dead City Streets and Goldray also join line-up
Richie Sambora best known as the founding member of multi – platinum selling ‘Bon Jovi‘ has been added to the 2014 line up of Download Festival this week. The rock icon has co-written over 20 top 40 hits and 11 top 10′s including legendary ‘Living on a prayer’ and ‘you give love a bad name’
His 40 year career has seen him play to over 34million fans across the world as a part of ‘Bon Jovi‘ and during his acclaimed solo career and now he brings the special guest who will feature in his performance, Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist Orianthi, along for the ride.
As well as rockstars with super stardom already under their belts two local bands were also added to the line up at Donnington this summer, Derybshire post-grunge duo Drenge and Nottingham based Baby Godzilla.
Other acts added to the Download 2014 line-up this week include psychedelic rockers Turbowolf, Sony signed Birmingham post-hardcore band Cytota, blues rock band The Temperance Movement, who will be fresh off of their recent tour, progressive Metallers Nothing More and London bohemian band Goldray.
The Dead City Streets who were also added to the line up said “We are unbelievably excited to finally let you all know that we are opening the Red Bull Studios stage on the Sunday at this years Download Festival. It’s a massive honour to be a part of something so iconic, if you’re around make sure you come and hang. Let’s make 2014 special”
So it looks as if it will be a great weekend for all the rock and metal lovers headed in mass to descend on Donnington for the first big alternative weekender this June.
Download Festival 2014 takes place from June 13-15 and will be headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park – in a rare performance of their legendary debut album Hybrid Theory – and Aerosmith. Weekend and day tickets are still available at http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/tickets
