About Me

I am a creative who has skills in many aspects of the creative industries due to my experience and education. I have gained experiences that range from working in a bustling newsroom as part of my NCTJ training to being on the other side of the equation and persuading journalists to cover one of my clients at a busy PR agency.

 

In my early days of work experience, I worked on several independent and start-up projects before having my daughter, which prompted me to take a hiatus and stay at home for a while. In recent years I have worked as a freelance Web Developer, Marketing Assistant and other online roles from home, before returning to university as a mature student to gain my undergraduate degree for which I received a 2:1.

 

Since graduating from my undergraduate degree, I completed an internship in PR and marketing that I originally started alongside my studies but was extended by the employer to fit their specific needs. I then went on to work as a PR and Communications assistant where I was in charge of a small team before returning to university to study for my Masters which I received with Merit.

PR and Communications Assistant

In this role I work with the Social Media Team and Media Team, liaising with the managing director on a daily basis. Dealing with media requests working with journalists. Meeting with clients. Updating the website.

Day to day duties:

  • Creating content and promotional assets.

  • Scouting media opportunities for clients.
  • Maintaining journalist databases.

PR, Marketing and Design Intern

I learnt many things in this internship including: Development and implementation of a PR/marketing/social media plan, Analyse data and statistics, Support the PR/Marketing team with marketing campaigns, Regularly update and write relevant content for the website, newsletter and social media and Help create promotional materials, press releases etc

Social media monitoring, Creation and distribution of customer newsletters, analysis of results (click through, ROI), Creating and gathering sticky content from publishers, suppliers, customers and the community, Website updates and/or co-ordination thereof, incl. writing articles for SEO purposes, Updates to the PR list, dealing with any media enquiries, Assisting in the creation of the CCK online Media Centre and the PR archive and Assisting brand strategist with review and development of the CCK brand.
